If a student leaves a shift early but checks in/out of the student portal correctly and completes all end-of-shift requirements, they will receive credit for the hours they attended. However, they cannot subsequently schedule a shorter shift to offset the missing hours only. Axon policy requires students to schedule a full shift based on the site's allowed duration (as listed in the portal interface when you go to schedule a shift).

Example: A student attends 10 hours of an expected 12-hour shift. If the site allows 12-hour shifts, they must schedule another full 12-hour shift to make up the missed 2 hours.

Please note that students are prohibited from leaving a shift early just because. This article is intended for rare situations, such as emergencies that require a student to leave early or instances where a site asks the student to leave due to internal issues or processes - both situations require the student to reach out to [email protected] to report when this occurs.
